Welcome to my homepage!
My name is Jana Sasse and I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Applied Mathematics and Numerics (LSIII), Department of Mathematics at TU Dortmund University, Germany. I studied Computational Engineering Science at RWTH Aachen University and received my doctorate degree at the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University.
My research profile is grounded in computational engineering. On the engineering side, my research focuses on the design and optimization for plastics processing applications and additive manufacturing. In particular, I am interested in the rheological and thermal design of polymer melt flow channels in extrusion. On the computational side, I mainly focus on numerical methods for computational fluid dynamics and the application of adjoint-based optimization. I am especially interested in the intersection of simulation and real-world applications and the robust integration of the two, e.g., using methods from uncertainty quantification.
